I saw this on Netgalley, and requested it.

I have a My Little Pony fan-girl who loves these graphic novels and so I was excited both to read it and to see how she would like it.

She Loved it, reading it all in one sitting. This was a fun book. As always, MLP deliveries great drawings, funny stories with a good lesson on friendship and getting along, in a way that never talks down to the reader while still being age appropriate.

The book is several stories of varying length linked more by main title than any continuous story that reminds me of the television series. There is a main story, then several smaller ones all centering around one or two of the show’ main cast: Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Cutiemark Crusaders.

What is fun about the television series and the book is how stories can be read at many levels and still enjoyed. There were parts of the book I know my daughter did not understand but I found wonderfully clever. And I saw her giggling at several parts and grinning the whole time. Her favorite story was the Minotaur learning lessons in kindness from Fluttershy. These graphic novels are always in demand at our library, and at book fairs.  So if you have a fan of My Little Pony at your house, this is a very good choice.
